Crystal Wellman

Crystal Wellman is a dancer choreographer from North Carolina who began her dance journey at the School of Gaston Dance Theatre under the guidance of Pat Wall. She developed her skills as a scholarship student with prestigious institutions, including the Joffrey Ballet, Atlanta Ballet School's pre-professional program, and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, ultimately earning her BFA from East Carolina University with the Lynette Dorn Johnson scholarship. Throughout her professional career, Crystal has performed with esteemed companies such as the Montgomery Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Charleston Dance Project, The Moving Poets of Charlotte, and Palmetto City Ballet. As the founder and director of the Unbound Ballet Project, a contemporary ballet company based in Charleston, she is committed to providing meaningful opportunities for dancers during their off-seasons while bringing dance to unconventional spaces to enhance accessibility for the public and enrich the community's cultural landscape
